COVID-19 Vaccines and Flu Immunizations
Individuals who have received a COVID-19 vaccine, or who are planning on receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, do not need to wait to be immunized against the flu. COVID-19 vaccines may be given at the same time as, or any time before or after, other vaccines, including live, non-live, adjuvanted or unadjuvanted vaccines.

Vaccine Booking and Eligibility

  • 1st dose eligibility for Moderna is age 25+
  • 1st dose eligibility for Pfizer is age 12+
  •  2nd dose eligibility if your first was:
    • Pfizer is 21 days after your first dose
    • Moderna is 28 days after your first dose
    • AstraZeneca is 8 weeks from 1st dose

Gateway Medical Appointments during COVID

Gateway remains open throughout the pandemic. Medical appointments are currently conducted via phone and secure video on clients’ computers at home, tablets, or smartphones.

In-person medical appointments at the Centre are scheduled for urgent, essential services only (as determined by our providers). Appointments are staggered to reduce the risk of infection and spread of the virus.

If you have an in-person appointment, please bring your own mask, or one will be provided to you. You will be screened by phone and again at the door for COVID-19 symptoms and possible exposure to the virus through community contact and any travel. Gateway staff will be wearing personal protective equipment and adhering to strict disinfecting protocols before and after all appointments.

Gateway Dental Appointments during COVID

At this time, Gateway’s dental clinic continues to provide dental hygiene and dental treatment services for existing clients with urgent needs. Seniors 65+ who qualify for the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program are also able to receive urgent dental care services at Gateway through our partnership with the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health Unit.

We have implemented the guidelines set out by Public Health Ontario for Dental Care Settings and are following recommendations from the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
