Children & Youth

Our youth programming provides education, resources and group activities aimed at increasing positive youth development.

We engage youth within our community and work with schools and other partners to provide programming to enhance youths' strengths and promote positive outcomes for young people.

YouthCentral to our approach is the importance of fostering knowledge and skills so that our young people make healthy lifestyle choices that include:

  • proper nutrition
  • active living
  • positive relationships
  • academic success
  • community involvement

Staff and volunteer leaders act as role models in a warm and friendly environment where youth are welcomed and encouraged.

Children participate in activities that promote healthy active lifestyles offered at a time that is convenient for parents without clashing with homework, supper, and family time in an affordable, safe, supervised environment after school.

All programming reinforces basic social skills, such as cooperation, team-building and conflict resolution, improves academic achievement of students, increases students' self-esteem through skill development activities, encourages / develops links and partnerships between school, home and community.

Programs are designed for children and youth between the ages of 5 and 13 who may not be involved in, or have access to other organized sports or extracurricular activities.
