Diabetes Clinics

Clinics are held monthly for registered/enrolled Gateway clients. They provide same-day access to a physician, diabetes nurse and the Nutritionist.

Diabetes Education

Gateway CHC offers a "Passport to Diabetes" Program in Tweed on an ongoing basis throughout the year. This program is open to all people living in Central Hastings. Topics covered include healthy eating, physical activity, medications, stress management, and prevention of diabetes complications. The program runs for 8 weeks and the cost is free.

Whether you have just been diagnosed with diabetes or have had it for years, we encourage everyone to attend. Group education classes and individual counseling are available at sites listed below:

            Tweed - at Gateway Community Health Centre, 41 McClellan Street.

 

Tuesdays in Tweed - group classes from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Individual counseling available by appointment
